Sipping hot cup of coffee by the cafe

This 3d piece of Cafe was inspired by a greeting card. I used everyday items I had lying around the house and decoupaged them together.

Simple Fall Tote Bag.

I am participating in the "The SINGER One™ Sewing Machine Idea Board Challenge". I am planning to make a tote bag for my "Simple Fall Sewing" project.I was inspired by the fall colors of leaves you find in autumn. I made a sample sketch of how I want my tote bag to look like. I will be using felt as my backing.I will be adding green ribbon as a closure to my tote bag. I will be using the automatic 1-step buttonhole stitch, if I win the fabulous SINGER One™ sewing machine.(keeping my fingers crossed). Then I will add the brown button to prevent things from falling out the tote bag. I am planning to use variegated embroidery floss to do some cross stitch and chain stitch on the lower corner of the tote. I pinned up the chosen fabric together on to the board using my sketch as a guide. I really enjoyed making the idea board for this challenge. Standing back and taking a look at my idea board, it is amazing how the fall leaves inspired my tote bag project.I would like to thank Stitch Craft Magazine and Singer Sewing Company for hosting this fun challenge. It really got my creative juices flowing.

BLOG JOY

Reading blogs has become a small part of life but does have a profound effect on me and it also brings me JOY. With two years into this daily agenda on my list I have accumulated quite a list of blogs that I follow or visit regularly. I am often stunned with the amount of information and resources that I can find on different blogs. Blogosphere is just booming with creative writers, artists, photographers etc. I follow various types of blogs ranging from mommy blogs, DIY blogs (showcasing cute projects that you can whip up yourself). Photography, craft blogs etc,

With a very active 28 month old and 4 month old, I don’t get to often check up on my favorite blogs as I used. But when I do I feel like a treat. I feel motivated and inspired to do more and try out new things. I get to try out new recipes and crafts. And the process is easy as I have all the instructions and video tutorials and photo tutorials out there to guide me through the process.

I follow Mommy blogs where mommies give you the best deals/bargains that one could possibly fine on everything ranging from grocery, apparel and also share their personal experiences about their children. In a way I know that I am not only one going through life with kids. It’s just a phase before the next one starts. It is all part of motherhood so take a Deep breath and enJOY.

I also get to vicariously enJOY great seminars that I am unable to attend in person. To mention a few great seminars are BlogHer, CHA (Craft and Hobby Association), International Quilt Festival etc. Around this time my favorite bloggers have many exciting things planned for their readers like live video feeds, new products and of course super exciting giveaways planned.

I guess I cannot stop raving about the wonderful blogs out there in the blog world that I have discovered and many more that I will discover in time. Hats off to all the amazing blogger’s that contribute so much creativity and talent to world of blogging. Someday I hope to blog regularly.

Reading blogs has become my passion and it is something that brings me JOY.

Summer Bonding Project!

TwitterMoms and GlueDots Adhesive have teamed up to bring you a fun and creative Summer Bonding Project! I am also excited to be participating in this project. I created a mini Summer album (shown above) to keep a record our summer outings. Inside there is room for journaling and adding pictures. Following are brief instructions on how I made this project.

Materials used: Circle cutter or compass, flowers, buttons ribbon, pink and blue card stock, glue dots, needle and thread.

Instructions:
1)Fold the pink card stock in half and cut a circle(but not all the way through) using the middle crease. In the end,you have two co-joined circles (this is the base of your album).

2)Repeat step (1) a few time to create the inside of the album.

3) Pierce two holes in the middle of each to co-joined circle and bind all the card stock together using thread and needle.

4) Now for the cover of your album, cut a full smaller circle using blue card stock.

5)Adhere the ribbon and blue card stock on the pink card stock using glue dots.

6) Finally adhere flowers and buttons using glue dots.

I am going to make a few of these with my son. After you make the first album, making similar albums is a breeze. Thank you Glue Dots for inspiring me to do this project with my son.
